Hire Me

Services

When I first started this site I was seriously considering freelance system administration and programming; after four years of retirement those no longer look particularly attractive. The only things I’ve done for hire recently are writing; a few tutorials about git, and one about using GNU make as a scripting lanbguage. I’m still open to that kind of tech-writing project. Areas of expertise and interest include:

  • Git. Also version control in general, although these days that mostly means either Git or Subversion.
  • Static site generators, including building blogs and websites on GitHub or GitLab.
  • GNU Make and other command-line utilities.
  • Scripting in Bash, Make, etc.
  • Software and perhaps hardware reviews.
  • Typesetting with LaTeX
  • Linux; window managers, Emacs, distributions, etc.
  • History of personal computing.

Stories about the old days are free.
